9 Months

I'm writing a letter, for my own benefit, to remember the things my sweet baby is doing right now.

Dear Paislee Grace,
Yesterday you turned 9 months old!  9 months of pregnancy seemed forever, but really looking back it went by so quickly and now here you are growing and changing so much.  At 9 months you have two bottom teeth, which on occasion have bit me, OUCH...I have to poke your cheek when you are nursing and bite me.  You say Dadada all day long....but you are a Mamma's girl through and through.  Whenever I leave the room you come looking for me, sometimes screaming as you go and other times trailing along finding bits of food, dirt, carpet, paper, rocks or whatever else may be there to put in your mouth.  3 days ago you climbed the first stair...as soon as I grabbed the camera and took a pic you turned around, let go and fell backwards, thankfully you didn't bonk your head or cry.  This last week I find you watching out the back door daily, you squeal and get SO excited whenever the cats, dogs, or one of your siblings is in sight.  You talk and scream to them to come closer, I just know in your head you are saying 'Let me out, I want to come too!'  Its the sweetest, cutest, thing ever.  You pull up to everything and are so proud of yourself.  I got you a push toy from the DI and you LOVE to walk it around the room.  When it gets stuck or you run into something, you push and pull banging it around, then realize it wont go forward...no worries, it gets left and you're on to your next adventure.  You are one busy little chick, having to touch and taste everything you come in contact with.  I guess that is the way you learn the best.  You love most anything I feed you from pasta, to bits of meat, bread, crackers, my home canned peaches/pears, apricots, mashed up banana, avacado, potato, squash, broccoli, ya pretty much everything.  We've basically skipped over baby food.  I took you to your 9 month well baby visit where you weighed in at 15 lbs 0 oz, 26 3/4 inches long, and your tiny head is now 41 cm.  You are under the 5th percentile on everything and have gone down on the growth curve, but the doctor didn't seemed concerned and said you are healthy and normal!! We will continue to monitor your growth and so long as you don't fall off the growth chart everything will be okay.  Paislee, you have been my very best night sleeper from day 1.  We've had some crazy nights, but for the most part you have slept wonderfully.  These days I try to put you down around 9 and you sleep a solid 10 hours (knock on wood).  9-7 is a perfect schedule since I get up to get the kids to school anyways.  During the day we have now cut back to just 2 naps, morning and afternoon.  Anywhere from 1-2 1/2 hours long.  I absolutely love all your noises and watching you explore the world around you.  What a special little soul you are.  I know you were meant for our family and came at just the time.  We love you so much.  Stop growing up so quickly and just stay my tiny sweet baby mouse forever.
Love,
Mom
